Jezzebelle is Katie Carpenter & Gary Burke – an acoustic rhythm n’ roots duo from Dublin, Ireland. As performers Jezzebelle have spent much of their 11yr history performing in venues all over Ireland, Europe & North America.
As songwriters Jezzebelle have had much success over the years. Most recently with ‘Falling Into Place’ earning the runner-up prize in 2016’s Clancy Brothers Song Contest, and both Katie (co-writing with Liz Madden) & Gary have had songs in the final of 2016’s Pan Celtic Irish Language Song Competition (‘Fadó Fadó’ & ‘Geallaim Duit’), the latter was also a contender for this years Irish entry to Junior Eurovision.
‘Meet Me In The Middle’ made it onto Tunecore’s ‘Valentine’s Day Collection’ in 2013, ‘Never Ends’ and ‘Southern Fire’ (the latter co-written with Liz Madden) put Jezzebelle in the final of the prestigious ‘Christie Hennessy Song Contest’ in 2013 & 2014. ‘Dimension Me’ was a finalist in RTÉ’s TV song competition ‘The HIT’ in 2013.
‘All The Stars’, a reworking of Jezzebelle single ‘Never Coming Back’ saw them team up with Chrissy Tignor & Allied Songwriters for a brief foray into the Dance music genre in 2014. ‘The Road Ahead’ was the winning song in 2007’s Clonmel National Song Contest.
Jezzebelle have been finalists in a number of international competitions with tracks such as ‘Empty Mile’ (Glinsk 2010), ‘I Just Can’t Stay Away’ (Clonmel 2009) and ‘Turn On The Light’ (ISC 2014).
‘Empty Mile’ was also part of the ‘Brand New Day’ compilation album released in 2010 for the Suicide Or Survive charity. ‘Bad Seed’ was part of the ‘Potential Collection Vol. 2’ compilation album, released in 2008 by artists associated with The Zodiac sessions in Bruxelles Dublin.
